Description

Elton John is a British rock musician, composer and pianist who has become a true legend on the world stage. Born on March 25, 1947, in Pinner, Great Britain, under the name Reginald Kenneth Dwight, he has shown remarkable musical talent since childhood. Thanks to his unique combination of brilliant piano playing, powerful vocals and author's signature, Elton John has won the hearts of listeners around the world, and has won five Grammy Awards and the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire. His career spans a wide range of musical styles, from rock 'n' roll and psychedelic rock to soft rock and pop rock.

Caribou is the eighth studio album by Elton John, released in June 1974. Work on the record took place at the famous Caribou Ranch studio in the United States and lasted only nine days under great pressure due to a planned tour of Japan. Despite the rush, the album became a major commercial success. It topped the charts in Canada, reached number two on the US Billboard 200, and reached the Top 20 in the UK. The album presented listeners with some of Elton John's most iconic songs - the hit “Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me”, which took high places in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, and the driving “The Bitch Is Back”. In “Caribou”, the artist combines classic rock with elements of country, funk and experimental motifs, which makes the album a special one in his discography. In 1974, the album was certified gold and platinum in the United States, and in 1993 it was certified double platinum. The album was also nominated for a Grammy Award in the Album of the Year category, confirming Elton John's status as one of the leading artists of his time.

The album contains 10 tracks:

Side A:

  • A1. The Bitch Is Back
  • A2. Pinky

  • A5. Solar Prestige A Gammon
