Description

Metallica is one of the most influential bands in the history of heavy metal, revolutionizing the genre with its aggressive energy, technical prowess, and uncompromising approach. Founded in 1981 in Los Angeles, the band, led by vocalist and rhythm guitarist James Gatfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, became a pioneer of thrash metal, becoming one of the legendary “Big Four” along with Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Their albums “Master of Puppets”, “...And Justice for All” and “Metallica” (known as The Black Album) became milestones for the genre. For decades, the band remained relevant, repeatedly changing their sound, but retaining their essence.

Hardwired... to Self-Destruct is Metallica's tenth studio album, marking the band's return to the top after an eight-year break. Released on November 18, 2016 via Blackened Recordings, this double album is Metallica's first studio album since “Death Magnetic”. The record's sound combines aggressive thrash with heavy metal in the style of the band's classic releases, but at the same time demonstrates maturity and clarity in production. The producer Greg Fidelman managed to preserve the energy of the live sound, giving each track strength and space. The album received critical acclaim, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and topped the charts in 57 countries, becoming Metallica's sixth consecutive release to start at number one in the United States. Lars Ulrich called it the best work in the band's history.

The album contains 2 LPs with 12 tracks.
