Seiji Ozawa & Boston Symphony Orchestra — outstanding Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa led the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 29 years, establishing a period of unparalleled musical excellence. Even before officially taking office, Ozawa and his orchestra created a multi-faceted recording of Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique for Deutsche Grammophon, praised by the New York Times as particularly "light and mercurial." Under his direction, the orchestra gained worldwide acclaim for precision and profound musical interpretation.
Hector Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique — a legendary vinyl recording by the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa, released in the audiophile vinyl series The Original Source for Deutsche Grammophon's 125th anniversary. The original four-track tapes were remastered in 100% analog quality (AAA) by Emil Berliner Studios, providing high detail, improved frequency response, and minimal noise and distortion. The record is pressed on 180g black vinyl in a deluxe gatefold edition with the original cover, additional photos, and facsimiles of the recording logs, making it a true audiophile collector's item.
