The ART VoiceChannel preamplifier is a versatile device ideal for recording, broadcasting, and live performances where the highest performance and sound detail are important. It combines a Class-A tube microphone preamplifier, full-featured dynamics control, de-esser, expander, and semi-parametric EQ. This allows for maximum control over the sound source, making VoiceChannel an ideal choice for recording both vocals and instruments.
The ART VoiceChannel preamp uses a classic tube design with a 12AX7A tube providing variable input impedance and selective tube plate voltage. This allows you to achieve a variety of sound characteristics, optimizing work with any microphones - both modern and vintage condenser, ribbon, or dynamic. Adjustable impedance allows you to tune the unit to the ideal microphone operating point, and selective plate voltage adds or reduces the warmth and character of the tube sound.
ART VoiceChannel provides full dynamics control thanks to an integrated compressor, de-esser, and expander. All parameters such as threshold, ratio, attack and release for the compressor, frequency, and level for the de-esser, and threshold for the expander are easily adjustable from the front panel. The semi-parametric EQ allows you to adjust the sound with great flexibility and can be positioned before or after the dynamics processor at the touch of a button. This adds versatility when working with sound. Separate connectors for connecting external equipment are located directly after the microphone preamplifier and before the A/D converters, which provides flexibility in working with the signal.
ART VoiceChannel supports a wide range of outputs, including analog balanced output, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, or ADAT digital output with 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz sampling rates. Direct connection to a computer or laptop via USB is also possible. This makes the preamplifier extremely flexible and convenient to use in any sound system, regardless of its type - analog or digital.
